Whilst this is on, another battle is in the midst: Ryosuke's inevitable battle with the driver known as 'Shinigami', Rin Hojo.The destined battle between Ryosuke and Rin 'Shinigami' Hojo has begun, over a girl named Kaori. This car is lighter than the Eighty-Six and has more power. Akina is tofu delivering Eight-Six.Keisuke Takahashi of the RedSuns is on the hunt for the mysterious ghost driver of Akina that defeated him with a shocking drift technique. Drivers from across the region are lining up for a shot at the new guy. He's not interested in distractions - and that could spell heartbreak for Kyoko.Hoping to keep up with Takumi's growth as a racer, Keisuke's spending most of his spare time driving. This leaves Keisuke in a bind where he may have to forfeit his battle. Later, when Keisuke falls prey to a trap set by Project D's next opponents, the upcoming race could be over before it begins.The damage to Keisuke's car might prevent him from driving in the uphill race. However a deadly trap that will turn the tides has been set against them. Takumi's joined the Project D racing crew, and his reputation precedes him across the region.

With Keisuke having an immediate disadvantage against the GT-R in the hill climb, Ryosuke ends up giving him advice, but it's a huge gamble: take it easy on the tires and give Hoshino a seven second lead going into the downhill run. Meanwhile, Nobuhiko gets an opportunity to race Takumi, and by selecting the pursuing spot, attempts to learn Takumi's driving technique. This "Blind Attack" may be Takumi's trump card in this battle. As the uphill race begins, Kobayakawa is about to be shown the true ability of Keisuke Takahashi.As the first battle winds down, the downhill between Takumi’s Eight-Six and Omiya’s NB8C Roadster begins.
