It can serve as telephone stool, as valet in a changing room, or as a seat for children at kindergarten.Seven years after launching Chair_ONE, it was quite a challenge to design a second die-cast aluminum chair for Magis. The carefully thought-out proportions of the wooden block and its two handles give the object the enigmatic charm of something that appears legible but whose purpose remains mysterious.Chair_ONE is constructed just like a football: a number of flat planes assembled at angles to each other, creating the three-dimensional form. Working on my first collection for Mutina, I began to appreciate the beauty of this ancient and simple craft. Over a course of 3 years we have been collaborating with architects Herzog & de Meuron on the Muck Petzet, architect and general commissioner of Germany´s contribution to the Architectural Biennale in Venice, has assigned us/KGID to be in charge of the exhibition design of the German Pavilion. The exhibition was held at the KGID (Konstantin Grcic Industrial Design) showcases a comprehensive portfolio of products and design concepts with especially commissioned photographs and original drawings.
